Early Years Development Through Multi-Sensory Storytime
Welcome to Sense-a-Story, where we transform traditional storytelling sessions into immersive, multi-sensory experiences for children in Aberdeen.
Our engaging 45-minute sessions are designed for children aged 6 months - 5 years, encouraging them to see, hear, smell, touch, and even taste the story!

Baby, Toddler and Preschool Multi-Sensory Classes
Sense-a-Story classes are more than just fun; they foster early years development through interactive story time, helping to build language and communication skills, self-awareness, and creativity. Our classes are designed to be inclusive and accessible for all children. Along with the spoken word, stories are signed.
Please note: We don't teach sign. Signing is used in an effort to be more inclusive, and to add an extra visual element to the story.
Join us for a journey where stories come to life, and little ones can play and learn together in a friendly, welcoming environment.

What to Expect at a Sense-a-Story Class
Every class begins with a welcome song to get everyone ready for what's in store.
Each week we explore a different story using all five external senses. The session features stimulating visuals, puppets and props, sound effects and musical instruments, natural scents, messy play and natural materials, healthy fruit and veg and lots more!
After the story, children can explore any or all parts of the story in free play, allowing them (and you!) to socialise.
Every class concludes with a goodbye song, allowing children to reflect on what they've experienced throughout the session.
We genuinely feel these classes are benefiting his development...
A wonderful experience for little ones! We’ve been attending Sense-a-Story since our son was 6 months old (he’s now 1+). Each week brings a brand new, creative story that keeps things fresh and engaging. Our son loves listening to the stories, exploring the sensory setups, and especially interacting with other babies his age. It’s been lovely to watch him grow in confidence and curiosity each week. As parents, we genuinely feel these classes are benefiting his development by encouraging early communication, social skills, and sensory exploration in a playful and supportive environment. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We highly recommend Sense-a-Story to any parent looking for a fun and enriching activity for their baby or toddler.
Very friendly and welcoming...
Stevie is an excellent facilitator. She is very friendly and welcoming, always remembering every child's name and their individual traits. She really brings the stories to life with each of the senses. She is amazing at providing different imaginative interactive activities at each station to make the stories come to life. It is a great group. Children enjoy the stories, interaction and free play time. We love the photos and enjoy sharing them with our eighteen month old granddaughter and her parents. Can't recommend it enough.
Highly recommend you give it a go...
This is a great interactive class. Stevie puts in so much effort to come up with lots of different ways of interpreting a story through the senses. My grandson (two and a half years old) loves participating in the varied hands on activities with the other children. He especially likes messy/water play and role play. It's a great way to develop their imagination. Highly recommend you give it a go.
